The dumplings, salt and pepper eggplant and crispy barramundi were all very nice. The ‘crying tiger’ was overpriced - better off making it at home. The service was average and we were put at the worst table because they had messed up the booking.
This place is a hidden Thai food gem, if you don’t mind the higher price tag. Didn’t order drinks and total was almost $50 each for 2 people. Food came out exceptionally quick and was delicious overall. Large portions which you can takeaway. The beef cheeks in red curry was the winner, tender and perfect amount of spicy 🌶️ (not the toned-down mild kind of spice that caters to milder tastebuds). Pad Thai was nice but just ordinary. Wished we got the green curry instead, however our initial choice was discouraged strongly by the waitress and we felt almost forced to not have 2 different curries as it would be strange to do so, she said. Such an opinionated service was a first for me.
Food came out all at once, which we didn’t really mind in the end. But was just surprising as we ordered entree as well and didn’t expect all the food out together.
Be aware that the steam rice is a really SMALL serve for $4. We ordered 2 serves and received 1 small-ish red bowl, which is definitely not enough for 2 people.
Cosy restaurant nestled in a lane way,
Lovely interior and vibe.
Food is great but not if you can't handle a bit of spice !
Great for small groups, probably could have used a little more table space for all the food we ordered 😄
My husband and I went here on Saturday the 13th of January. We have both been here before and had high expectations. Food tasted ok service was good but we both got horrible food poisoning. Being pregnant, this is extremely dangerous for myself and can have long standing effects, needed to seek medical attention. Terrible experience
So delicious, we had some course menus and that was so much food. Their service was good and the dishes came out quickly. Enjoy coming to Lantern by Nu for special occasions.
Had a great dinner here and flying straight in with a 5 star. Service is good. Atmosphere is great and I was really surprised by how authentic the mains were.
Thi green curry was incredible and it was like I was in Thailand. Beef cheek was extremely good and dumplings were amazing.
For the price and total package this was bang on and I would find it very unlikely that you would get a negative experience going here.
This is the first time I’ve been here in about 2 years and I noticed an improvement on the food for sure. It was refreshing to have a taste of Thailand after being there only a few months ago. Normally dishes like a green curry are underwhelming, but not here.
Anywhere around the gouger st area, this is a very good option if you we’re after modern Thai food. I will go back for sure 👍🏼
Lovely, albeit, expensive dining experience. Beautiful decor indoors. The Crying Tiger dish was a standout.
We had multiple instances where different servers asked us the same questions. Other than that, the service was overall warm and friendly. Food was served quickly and they check with you whether you're ready for the mains.
Prices have gone up so be prepared to shell out a few more $$ versus your standard night out.
Wow! You wouldn’t know this restaurant was here if you were walking past. Really delicious food, outstanding ambiance and terrific fast service (almost too fast). Will definitely be back here again when in Adelaide. For the record we had red curry beef cheeks and Thai fried rice as a main.
